Biography: Information from Highland Council’s Register of Interments, which commenced in 1927. The lair owner when she died was her sister Mary MacKinnon of Camusterrach. Elizabeth was born 16 November 1855 and was a daughter of William and Mary Kennedy from Toscaig. Elizabeth never married. William was married first to Mary MacLennan (married 1855, died 1862); and secondly to Jessie or Janet Gillanders (married 1865, died 1899 aged 66). William died in 1911. From his first marriage, William and Mary had Elizabeth, Mary, John (died aged 2 years 6 months) and Chirsty (died aged 1 year 6 months). From his second marriage, William’s son John B died 22 January 1867, aged 3 weeks; and had a daughter Flora Ann (born 1869) who married Archie MacGillivray.
