Biography:

Farquhar was an officer in the Gurkhas, and later became Registrar of the University of Glasgow. He was born and raised in what is now Druim a’ Lochain Cottage, Milltown. He was sent to the Home Farm to collect milk on 1st April 1938, to keep him out of the way when a party of older boys including his brother, were going fishing – in his absence, the boat overturned in Applecross Bay with the loss of all onboard.
