Biography:

Angus was the skipper of the Applecross estate boat ‘Passing Cloud’. Somewhere between Kyle and Toscaig, it got breezy and the Middletons (then owners of Applecross estate) demanded to be put ashore in Toscaig. Angus refused as there was no pier in Toscaig, and the boat had no dinghy and it would be too dangerous to attempt a landing given the weather conditions. So he took the ‘Passing Cloud’ round to the Poll Creadha, the sheltered anchorage between Ardubh and Culduie. As soon as the passengers disembarked, the Middletons sacked him. Angus lived in Lower Toscaig, in the house owned today by the Littlers. Angus had three sisters: Mary, Flora (Flor’ Bheag) and Annabel.
