Biography:

Fisherman and crofter. Another brother, Angus, died 16th October 1950 in Culduie and is buried here with them but is not on commemorated on the stone, supposedly because his brothers disapproved of the fact that he had married a Mull woman who taught Highland dancing – an activity the very religious brothers frowned upon. This family had connections with Uist and so were known as “Na h-Uibhistich”. According to the Highland Council’s Register of Interments, his funeral service was held at 1pm but no day or date is recorded for the service, or for the date of his death.
