Biography:

Duncan Gillanders was originally from Callakille; in Culduie, he stayed in the house that is now owned by Mr & Mrs Jolly. Duncan had two sons, Roderick and Duncan, living in Cooper Street, Plockton. When the Applecross fishing boats used to go to the Plockton communions, the Gillanders’ house was the first port of call. ~Captain Donald Gillanders erected the stone immediately next to him, in memory of his son Captain John Gillanders; and in memory of his daughter-in-law May MacDonald.
