According to the Highland Council’s Register of Interments, the owner of the lair when Catherine Gillies died was Kenneth Gillies, resident in Kyle of Lochalsh. She was a sister of Norman Beaton (Tormod Mòr); a daughter of Murchadh Mòr (Murdo Beaton) of Uags. The fishing  boat ‘Kathryn’ was named after her.
