Biography:

The ‘Polly’, as he was known, used a tricycle to deliver the post in the south of Applecross. In February 2011, Duncan MacLeod of Cawdor (Dunnchadh Ali Bhig from Coilleghillie) told the Heritage Centre curator about sitting in the window of his house and watching ‘The Polly’ walk over the hill from Toscaig to deliver the mails. He had a sister, Christina, who died aged 67 on 26 June 1935. Her funeral was held here on 28 June 1935 at 6pm.
