Biography: He had a sort of taxi service; he did ambulance runs to Inverness, and also had a sort of undertaking side to his business where he would collect the remains to bring them to and from Applecross for burial services. He would take coffins from the houses in Applecross (where funerals were traditionally held) to Clachan Cemetery. At one time in Shore Street there lived the three c’s: the Coddy (Duncan MacLean), the Cearc (Duncan’s brother Murdo MacLean) and the Coileach.
