Janet MacDonald was a sister of the Rìgh Chròlaig (Roderick MacDonald). She had another sister Kate, who was known as Càtar. This Kate was staying in Ardubh with the Ceannaiche, according to the 1871 census. Janet made a blanket which is now held at Applecross Heritage Centre. The blanket it believed to date from around about the 1840s.
