Biography:

Shopkeeper/merchant/hotelier. Along with her husband, she had what was the Temperance Hotel, Applecross. It is believed that Elizabeth was from Kishorn. She was a great supporter of church foreign missions. She was known as Bean Ali Tàillier, but also as Aunt Betsy to her two nephews John and Donald MacKenzie, born in Kishorn in 1886 and 1888 respectively, who were sent to stay with her after their mother died in 1894. A younger sister Flora was sent to a different house and can not be traced. The two boys emigrated to Canada, where John eventually bought a ranch. Both became wealthy.
