Biography: His parents took him when he was a young child to Lonbain so that his grandmother could look after him (for a while, or for a holiday?); when they came to collect him to take him home, he refused to leave and ended up staying in Lonbain with his granny. He came to work on the Applecross Estate and married Mary Ann Gillanders, widow of Murdo ‘Mortie Never’ MacDonald, the postman.
