Biography:

Màiri Ruairidh had a sister Kate (Cèiteag Ruairidh). They were related to the MacDonalds of Crowlin (Rìgh Chròlaig). The same family had Pier House on the Camusterrach pier, while  Ali Ruairidh lived in what is now Pier Cottage. He had a daughter called Seasag Alasdair, a female missionary in the Church of Scotland, who loved parsely! She used to follow the herring gutting as a lady missionary to support the Highland and Island girls.
