Biography:

Information from Highland Council’s Register of Interments, which commenced in 1927. The lair owner at her time of death is recorded as being her son Colin Gordon, resident in Toscaig. She was a ister of Ruairidh Mhurchaidh MacNair. She was originally from Ardubh, and was a very good singer. On their mother’s side, they were related from MacKay, piper to Queen Victoria. Bell, or her sister Bean Dhunnchaidh Cheàrr, would keep the tune right if the precentor in the curch services wasn’t up to the job.
