Anne MacDonald was a sister of Ministear Mòr (Reverend Kenneth MacDonald, Free Church, Camusterrach). Anne’s father was John MacDonald from Milltown. Anne and her husband Roderick had a big family – at least nine daughters and one son survived to adulthood. The son, John MacDonald (Seonaidh Rìgh) attained a high rank in the police in Glasgow.
