Biography: He was in the Navy in the First World War.He owned the ‘Seonaid’. Made a lot of money during the war years at the ring-net fishing for herring. Reputed to have made over £3,000 in one year at the time of WWII. Kennan and Danie Bhachaill were with him at the time. The sold the ‘Seonaid’ c.1949 and bought the ‘Mary Ann’ – they had her built in St Monance, Fife. His father was Murchadh Mòr na h-Uamhagan; his mother was Seasag an Rìgh. His brother Duncan, Dunnchad Mòr, had a fish shop on Kyle pier, and he owned the ‘Bella’, the neighbour boat to the ‘Seonaid’ before and during WWII. He had little English when he was a younger man. When he wasn’t working, he usually wore a slate grey waistcoat, with a gold pocket watch on a chain.
